-adj- (of a remark, saying etc) that no longer has any worth, effectiveness etc

Dictionary Example: His poetry is full of trite descriptions of nature.

Real life example: Girl: "I should know you wouldn't get it.  Just let it go"  Boy:  "so have you seen this show whale wars?"  :)
